How to install {{nume}}

{{nume}} isn't in the App Store and Google Play yet. Until then you install it directly from here, on Android or iPhone. It's the same app, with the same account. It takes about 5 minutes.

📲 Download {{nume}}

The same app on Android and iPhone. 🎁 The first {{luniGratuite}} months are free, with everything Premium has.

🤖AndroidDownload for AndroidTest version 🍎iPhoneBikbik on iPhoneSee the steps below

The Android file is about 75 MB, better on Wi-Fi. Questions? Write to us at {{email}}.

Tip: install the app at home, on Wi-Fi, not in the car park at the start of the ride. That way you have time to sign in and grant the permissions before the ride.

🤖 Android

You download the app file (APK) and install it.

⚠️ Why a security warning appears Because {{nume}} isn't in Google Play yet, your phone doesn't know it and asks whether you trust it. The message may be “File might be harmful”, “Install blocked” or “Unknown app” (Play Protect). This is normal for any app installed from outside the store. Download it only from bikbik.app, from this page.
  1. Download the app

Tap 🤖 Download for Android in the orange box at the top. If Chrome says the file may be dangerous, tap Download anyway.

  2. Open the downloaded file

From the download notification or from the Files app → Downloads.

  3. Allow the installation

The first time, the phone says it can't install apps from this source. Tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, then go back. This is needed only while the app isn't in Google Play.

  4. Install

Tap Install. If Play Protect appears, tap More details → Install anyway (on some phones the button is named slightly differently).

  5. Open {{nume}} and sign in

You enter your phone number and the code received by SMS from “Bikbik”. The first time you choose a nickname and your county; you add your motorcycle in Profile.

  6. Grant the requested permissions

So the group can see you on the road and you hear when something changes, tap Allow for:

    • Location, then Allow all the time (or “While using the app”): so the group sees you on the map for the whole ride, even with the screen off.
    • Notifications: for new rides, changes and the “I have a problem” alert.
  7. Remove {{nume}} from battery saving

Some phones (Xiaomi, Samsung, Huawei) close apps to save battery. Then, on the road, the group no longer sees you on the map. Choose your phone's make; the menu names may differ slightly depending on the Android version.

    Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO
    • Settings → Apps → Manage apps → {{nume}}.
    • Battery saver → No restrictions.
    • Turn on Autostart.
    • Optional: in the list of open apps, hold {{nume}} and tap the 🔒 lock.
    Samsung
    • Settings → Apps → {{nume}} → Battery → Unrestricted.
    • Settings → Battery and device care → Battery → Background usage limits: check that {{nume}} isn't under “Sleeping apps” or “Deep sleeping apps”.
    Huawei, Honor
    • Settings → Battery → App launch → {{nume}}.
    • Turn off “Manage automatically”, then leave all three on: Auto-launch, Secondary launch and Run in background.
    Oppo, Realme, OnePlus
    • Settings → Apps → {{nume}} → Battery usage.
    • Turn on Allow background activity and Allow auto launch.
Google Pixel, Motorola, Nokia and others
    • Settings → Apps → {{nume}} → Battery (or “App battery usage”) → Unrestricted.

When a new version comes out, you download it from here too and install it over the old one. Your account and rides stay.

🍎 iPhone

On iPhone, until it's in the App Store, {{nume}} runs from Safari and you put it on your home screen, with its icon, like any app.

⚠️ Good to know As this is the version before the App Store, on iPhone you don't get notifications for now, and location works only while you have the app open on screen. Everything else is the same as on Android: rides, the group map, clubs, discussions.
🍎 Open {{nume}} for iPhone
  1. Open bikbik.app/app in Safari

It has to be Safari, not Chrome or another browser.

  2. Tap Share ⬆️

The button with a square and an up arrow, at the bottom of the screen. On newer iPhones, first tap ⋯ next to the address, then Share.

  3. Choose “Add to Home Screen”

Scroll a little in the list until you find it, then tap Add. The BK icon appears on the screen.

  4. Open {{nume}} from the home screen

From the icon, not from Safari. You sign in with your phone number and the code received by SMS, then allow location.

If something doesn't work

The phone says the app is unsafe

That's normal while {{nume}} isn't in Google Play. Tap “More details”, then “Install anyway”. Download it only from bikbik.app.

The SMS with the code doesn't arrive

Check that you entered the number with the country code (+40 for Romania, +353 for Ireland). Wait a minute and request a new code. If it still doesn't arrive, write to us.

On the road, the group can't see me on the map

Check step 6 (location “all the time”) and step 7 (battery saving). On iPhone, keep the app open on screen for the whole ride.

On iPhone I can't find “Add to Home Screen”

Make sure you're in Safari, not Chrome. In the Share list, scroll all the way down.

I installed a new version and can't see anything

Sign in again with the same phone number: your account, rides and club are kept on the server.

Another problem? Write to us at {{email}} and tell us which phone you have and what message appears. When {{nume}} is in the App Store and Google Play, you'll be able to install it from there, without warnings.
